Mr. Nitish R Daniel was a keen science student till his 12th standard, however his calling was towards the legal field. Therefore, he went on to complete his B.A. LL.B (Hons.) from National Law Institute University, Bhopal (NLIU) in 2017 and LL.M (Intellectual Property Law) from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad in 2018.

After completing his LL.M, he went on to work as a Legal Adviser for a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking namely Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (ONGC) in 2018, which is India’s largest oil and gas producer. Wherein he worked as the Incharge of the Legal Section at ONGC Assam Arakan Fold Belt Exploratory Asset, Silchar and his duties included providing legal advice and guidance, Litigation management, Preparation, Filing, Supervision, Monitoring and Contesting cases before various Courts, Tribunals, Commissions, Statutory Authorities and interaction with Panel Lawyers, Courts, AGI / SGI and other Law Officers of Govt., Drafting of tender documents, contracts, MOUs, notices, other legal documents, Legal research and analysis, identifying important issues and emerging legal trends from court decisions and tendering advice to avoid unnecessary litigation, etc.

After acquiring practical experience in the legal field, in pursuance of his passion for research and academia, he joined NALSAR University of Law as an Assistant Professor (Law).

His main interest areas are the interface between law and technology, Intellectual Property Rights, International Laws, Labour laws amongst others.

Currently, He’s pursuing his Ph. D on the topic of “Artificial Intelligence, copyright, and Human Rights” from National Law University Delhi.

Apart from research and teaching, he enjoys cycling, sketching, and photography.
